Responsible tourism

We believe in responsible and sustainable tourism with regards to the environment, local communities and Australia's indigenous heritage. This means that we do all we can to minimise carbon emissions, protect and support the places we visit, and respect and educate our guests in the culture of Australia's Aboriginal people.

We minimise our impact on fragile habitats, remote villages and local communities by limiting our group size to 24 people.
We minimise the carbon emissions from flights by travelling in the most direct routes possible and avoiding retracing routes. We also use smaller, more efficient aircraft for internal flights.
We work closely with our suppliers to ensure their operational practices are environmentally sound.
We limit our journey time on coaches by, for example, using hotels that are centrally located within walking distance of major attractions.
We donate a part of our profits to support tree-planting projects and other conservation initiatives in Australia, so you don’t have to worry about paying extra to offset your carbon emissions from travelling with us.
We involve local people in tourism so that the money you spend filters down to the local economies. We employ Australian tour managers and local guides, and, where possible, use private vehicles run by local operators and smaller privately owned hotels.
We respect the indigenous heritage of Australia and encourage cultural understanding between our guests and Aboriginal communities. We include Aboriginal cultural activities in Alice Springs, Uluru/Ayers Rock, Melbourne and Cairns, and employ local Aboriginal people and companies.

We are proud to be a Platinum member of Sustainable Travel International and an accredited supporter of the Respecting Our Culture (ROC) programme designed by Aboriginal Tourism Australia (ATA).
