Responsible Australia and New Zealand tourism

We believe in responsible and sustainable tourism with regards to the environment, local communities and Australia and New Zealand's indigenous heritage. This means that we do all we can to minimise the carbon emissions of our tours, protect and support the places we visit, and respect and educate our guests in the culture of Aboriginal and Maori people.

We minimise the impact of our tours on fragile habitats, remote villages and local communities by limiting our group size to 24 people.
We minimise the carbon emissions from flights by travelling in the most direct routes possible and avoiding retracing routes. Our tours also use smaller, more efficient aircraft for internal flights.
We work closely with our Australia and New Zealand suppliers to ensure their operational practices are environmentally sound and support our responsible tourism policy.
We limit our journey time on coaches by, for example, using hotels that are centrally located within walking distance of major attractions.
We donate a part of our profits to support tree-planting projects and landscape conservation initiatives in Australia and New Zealand, so you don't have to worry about paying extra to offset your carbon emissions from travelling on our tours.
We take an active involvement in responsible tourism through wildlife preservation - we sponsor Kiwi hatchlings in New Zealand and Tasmanian Devils, assisting in the preservation of these national icons.
We involve local people in tourism so that the money you spend filters down to the local economies. We employ Australian or New Zeland tour managers and local guides, and, where possible, use private vehicles run by local operators and smaller privately owned hotels.
We respect the indigenous heritage of Australia and New Zealand and encourage cultural understanding between our guests and indigenous communities. Our tours include Aboriginal cultural activities in Alice Springs, Uluru/Ayers Rock, Melbourne and Cairns, and we employ local Aboriginal people and companies. In New Zealand, we include indigenous Maori experiences at Mitai Village and Hells Gate Thermal reserve.

Responsibile Australia and New Zealand tours We are proud to be a Platinum member of Sustainable Travel International and an accredited supporter of the Respecting Our Culture (ROC) programme designed by Aboriginal Tourism Australia (ATA).
