Not just a standard room at the back of the hotel - our guests have the distinction of enjoying superior deluxe rooms or luxury suites. Most rooms have a private balcony, separate bath and shower and separate sitting area.

A room with a view - we reserve rooms with the best ocean, harbour, river or city views.

Full breakfast included each day - we feel this is the most important meal of the day and should be taken at leisure, whether full buffet style or waiter/waitress served.

Inclusive meals - lunches and dinners are included when restaurant choices are limited or we feel you should experience local specialities. You also have plenty of opportunities to choose your own places to eat.

Who better to show you Australia and New Zealand than a local? - we only employ expert resident Tour Managers who have many years of experience and share our passion for our journeys of distinction.

Size does matter and we limit our groups to 24 people - you get a more personal service and we avoid having a negative impact on the environment and local communities we visit.

Laundry is an important issue on a long trip - most of our chosen hotels have laundry facilities.

We take expert care of your luggage - porterage is included in the tour cost and we provide Grus Travel luggage tags for easy identification as well as a complimentary overnight holdall.

Full programme of included excursions - the exclusive itineraries of our journeys are extremely comprehensive and provide a complete tour experience without the need for optional excursions at extra cost.

Truly unique Australian and New Zealand experiences - our journeys of distinction are all about discovery, challenge, adventure and learning. We include fabulous rail journeys on Australia’s Indian Pacific Train or New Zealand’s Tranz Alpine Train, a luxury Great Barrier Reef cruise, an wonderful overnight cruise around New Zealand’s Bay of Islands, and exclusive luxury Sydney Harbour and Auckland Harbour cruises. We also have plenty of hands-on interaction with local wildlife in their natural or protected habitat, and have privileged access to authentic local cultural Aboriginal or Maori experiences.

Leisurely pacing - we have carefully planned our journeys with this in mind, making sure you have 2-5 nights in each destination and plenty of free time to relax or explore on your own.
